PwVHPI / DARE Ambassadors
This is the Truth and DARE Space section for young people! Boomers, beware! Nah, just kidding. Everyone is welcome in this section, but we made it a bit more fun for young people (including youth with Visual, Hearing, Physical Impairments - PwVHPI) who want to know more about the Erasmus+ Programme and the opportunities it offers. Enjoy!
Module 1: Understanding the Needs
“Understanding the needs” is the first of five modules developed for youth workers, educators, trainers and youth leaders. This module aims to increase the communication and organisational skills and competences of youth workers who want to work with young PwVHPI (people with visual, hearing or physical impairment) to involve them in international youth exchanges. International youth work offers an excellent opportunity to experiment with and reflect on inclusive concepts and methods within a protected space that allows for mistakes and failures and, through a participatory approach, enables for common learning processes for all actors involved.
Module 2: Communication and coaching skills to approach and support the young PwVHPI and their families before and during a mobility
Communication and support are the essentials, especially when it comes to target groups who have limited trust and for whom exclusion is a dominant experience. This second of five learning modules is designed to provide youth workers and facilitators with guidelines on what to consider in communication and coaching in order to reach young people with visual, hearing and physical impairments (PwVHPI) and provide them with appropriate support before and during their participation in international inclusive activities.
Module 3: Transition activities from school to Erasmus plus mobilities, using non formal education activities
“How to transition from school to Erasmus+ mobilities, using non formal education activities” is the third of five modules developed for youth workers, educators, trainers and youth leaders. This module aims to improve the skills and competences of youth workers who want to work with young people with visual, hearing, and physical impairments-PwVHPI, and obtain the know-how on supporting young people in general and also young PwVHPI.
Module 4: Accessibility of information or supports available and how to teach young PwVHPI to use the internet safely for mobility and other opportunities
The Internet is a barrel of knowledge on any topic, which makes information more accessible, but also questions the safety of information stored and user activity across networks. Sharing and finding information is simplified due to ongoing advancements in technology, imposed by the evolution of the industry. Youth workers, educators, trainers and youth leaders will find it more convenient to access information for their teaching or other professional support targeted at PwVHPI (people with visual, hearing or physical impairment). They will also take the role of instructing young PWVHPI on using the internet safely.
Module 5: Creating and sustaining a learning environment for young PwVHPI during the mobility
“Creating and sustaining a learning environment for young People with Visual Hearing Physical Impairments (PwVHPI) during the mobility” is the fifth module developed for youth workers, educators, trainers and youth leaders. This module aims to increase the skills and competences of youth workers who want to work with young PwVHPI and learn more about different types of learning environments and how to create and sustain a learning environment during a mobility.

Rise to challenges, overcome barriers and succeed: how to mobilize your young PwVHPI peers
Welcome to our self-learning modules designed for young people, particularly addressing young PwVHP (People with visual, hearing and physical impairments) to increase the involvement of this important target group in international youth work. We want to empower young people to become DARE Ambassadors (DARE Digital Storytelling Handbook, 2020) and thus to enthuse peers for international youth activities. The modules are designed to support young people in this by providing self-learning experiences on crucial topics of inclusive youth work.
Independence skills how to gain and transfer them
“Independence skills, how to gain and transfer them” is the second module developed for young people with visual, hearing and physical impairments-PwVHPI and young people in general who wish to become DARE ambassadors and support their peers into empowering them to participate more in the learning mobility opportunities and in their community.
Communication and coaching skills to approach and support the young PwVHPI and the family
“Communication is key!” is the third module developed for young people who wish to become DARE Ambassadors, to empower their peers and especially young PwVHPI (people with visual, hearing or physical impairment) to participate more in youth exchanges and other activities. This module aims to increase the communication skills of potential DARE Ambassadors to be able to effectively engage young PwVHPI and support them in finding the right opportunity to take part in a local or international youth activity.
Advocate on behalf of disabled children and young people
People with disabilities often face a host of difficulties, from lack of infrastructure to social marginalization. Therefore, it is extremely important to shape a world in which they will be included, not as separate groups with special needs, but as an integral part of the diverse human environment. To achieve this goal, both third-party advocacy and self-advocacy are important means, that will make the voice of people with disabilities be heard and thus will increase awareness. The purpose of the following module is to help youth ambassadors, with or without disability, advocate with/for young People with Visual, Hearing and Physical Impairments (PwVHPI).
Accessibility of information or supports available how to use the internet safely
Internet is an important source of information for people of different ages. Yet, with the number of internet users increasing, potential threats also increase, which most users are not aware of. This is why understanding how to use the internet in a safe way is very important.
