Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. (JKPeV) was founded in 2004 with the aim of providing opportunities for young people and adults to develop and use their soft and professional skills and stimulate their creativity and entrepreneurship through non-formal learning methods. Located in Dresden, Germany, JKPeV is dedicated to promoting the EU citizenship and active participation of its citizens.

We organise international Projects, Events and Trainings for young people and adults in Dresden and abroad, with a focus on assisting the cultural enrichment of the city of Dresden and the Free State of Saxony while also promoting the cultural diversity of the European Union. Inviting foreign educators and participants to our projects kindles an intercultural dialogue in the heart of an already highly artistic hub -Dresden- while on the other hand, including local citizens in our events abroad brings a fresh outlook to familiar problems in the city and a sense of belonging to a greater group – Europe.

Addressing our aim, we focus on breeding international, cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary cooperation in Dresden and the EU, by offering a number of learning activities in Youth Work, Inclusion & Integration, Active participation & Volunteering, Human Rights, History & Remembrance annually with international participants and educators. Our Public Events offer the possibility for all citizens of Dresden to experience first-hand the intellectual and artistic approaches of individuals from other countries. Thus, facilitating an international dialogue on common issues.

Aside from learning activities, JKPeV also offers the opportunity for young adults to immerse themselves in this cultural and educational dialogue by offering Internship and Volunteering possibilities in our organisation. Working at the hub of such cultural activity allows participants –be they local or foreign- to better understand the possibilities, opportunities and cultural diversity present within the European Union.

The Kreisau-Initiative was founded in the summer of 1989 by East and West Berliners in order to support the establishment and work of an international meeting centre in Krzyżowa, Poland. Together with the Polish Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe, we initiate activities aimed towards building a Europe of democracy, openness and solidarity. We organise youth meetings, workshops, conferences and seminars.

We want young people to actively shape Europe. We want to instil in them a capacity for agency and commitment and to indicate them opportunities for participation in society. To do so, we take up important political and social questions of our time. Our educational approach is characterised by a practical outlook, a hands-on style, learning through experience.
Diversity is important to us. Our projects reach out to people regardless of categories such as origin, gender or ableness.

Our main educational fields of work are Contemporary History and Human Rights, Social-Ecological Transformation as well as Inclusion:

Contemporary History and Human Rights
To us at the Kreisau-Initiative, human rights education and the study of history belong together. In our projects, we link the present with the past and we consider it important that participants, with their diverse identities, senses of belonging and respective Remembrance Cultures, are reflected in them. Through our educational work we promote equality, democracy and human dignity.

Social-Ecological Transformation
Our vision is a “good life for all” within the ecological limits of our planet. In our education projects we critically reflect on the exploitation of people and nature and provide successful examples of a way of life beyond competition, consumer culture and growth maximization. Together with our participants we explore democracy, sustainability and solidarity.

Inclusion
In an inclusive society all people enjoy equal rights and differences represent opportunities, not obstacles. Our projects are open to people from very diverse social backgrounds and levels of education, with and without disabilities. Empowerment, language and communication as well as the development of professional skills are just a few of our focuses.
